North Walsham Town Council Presents celebration of all that was great about the 1980’s

North Walsham Market Place, St Nicholas Church and Grounds, Precinct, Vicarage Road Car Park, Local Pubs, Shops and Cafés
Raising funds for the North Walsham Skate Park
Do you remember the days, of Shoulder Pads, Big Hair, Break Dancing, CD Walkman’s, Rubik’s Cubes? Were you a Goth? A Punk? A New Romantic? Or did you just love Pop Music? For one day in August, North Walsham is travelling back in time to celebrate all that was great about the decade.
The Market Place will host the usual Sunday Market at 8am but will give itself over to the Main Stage where from midday local bands will play their take on classic 80’s tunes from all genres. Capturing the unrivalled attitude and atmosphere surrounding of one the biggest bands in the world, Platinum Queen Headline and are guaranteed to have everyone Dancing in the Street.
St Nicholas Church will become a Cinema in the twilight hours showing two classic 80’s films, while throughout the whole day the Church Grounds play host to a variety of entertainment including a Roller Disco, a Game Zone, Break Dancing displays, Cakes and a Market.
The Precinct will become a Food Village with stall holders from around the local area and Acoustic Music on the Precinct Steps.
Classic Cars and Bikes will be on show in the Vicarage Street Car Park. There will be competitions running throughout the day and a host of pop up events are being added to the event daily.
Later in the day The Black Swan becomes the Alternative Music Venue & the Kings Arms plays host to a night of 80’s Music.
